we all have a place where we feel instinctively, indelibly at peace. when life is stormy, we flee there, drink in the air and piece together our scattered thoughts. for some, it is a silent hollow. for others, a windswept plain, a dusty corner, an earth-scented patch of grass. someone's arms.
i have several places... the green-lit wood behind the house, the warm, golden world beneath my bedcovers-- and nothing is so comforting as standing in the middle of a field, and listening to the stars. they do talk, in their way.
where is your sanctuary?
beautiful pictures. congrats.

ReplyDeleteBooks; books are my sanctuary.
ReplyDeleteOr the rain. The sound and smell of rain puts me at ease, and soothes my worries. I am content with a warm duvet, a hot drink, a book, and rain upon my window.
The stars talk to me too, they tell me their secrets, and their stories. They are so comforting.
Char, I just wish I knew you in real life. x
I like to watch the sun rise.
ReplyDeleteIt's comforting to know that it happens every day, without fail.

I love your blog. This is a lovely post.
ReplyDeleteI like to go sit on the edge of the river. It's very peaceful, and there are not many people there.
Also, my blog is my sanctuary. I write it all, and there is no one to judge me. Just sweet words from lovely people.
All my love.
I agree with Megan, books are my sanctuary. As is my favourite deserted beach.
ReplyDeleteAs for the stories, I know they talk, and I'm constantly telling them my stories.

ReplyDeletemy sanctuary.. oh, dear. I don't have a specific place that i go to when i need to be alone. sometimes I go for walks on the footpath behind my house and sit on the bench, other times I just stay in my room. Or sometimes I just walk. i'd love a place to call my own, but i've never had one...
but, Books could be my sanctuary too, and gazing up into the sky and talking to the moon through my window is a sanctuary in itself, a cradle of stars and air. many things, I suppose. the bath, also.
many wishes and love ♥ xxx

I love the 1st picture, it has this deep thinking, staring into nothingness feel, which I find, peaceful..in a way :)
ReplyDeleteDon't laugh but my santuary is probably my bathroom.. Weird, I know. But it's the only place in my house where I can be alone.
If possible, I'd definitely feel, driving off to somewhere is the perfect sanctuary for me. And while I'm at it, I'd put on some road trip music and just talk to God.
That's my perfect place to be :)
Thanks for asking. Love your blog too btw <3
beautiful photos! my sanctuary is my bed, lol, i could spend all day in it.
